Hey guys! This is the beginning of a series of tutorials that will be geared towards answering some of my more frequently asked questions.
Today’s topic is about what programs you need to be able to use clip art. There is a misconception that you need to invest a lot of money into software for this. That is untrue. There are so many software options out there that cost little to nothing or nothing at all!
The first key to realize is that you will need a program on your computer that supports image editing. Your computer most likely did not come with one pre-installed, so you will need to find one you like and install it.
There are different types of programs for PC or Mac, so depending on what platform you use, you will have different options of software.
If you can afford the time to learn it and the cost, Adobe Photoshop is hands down the best of the best in image editing software and its available for both PC or Mac. That aside, you really don’t have to shell out the big bucks or give yourself a headache learning it.
Here is a list of recommended software.
You can also use Microsoft Publisher or Power Point.
This is just a short list of the most familiar software, but there are lots more and every program has its own set of tools and abilities. Make sure you’re installing the one that has the main functions YOU need for your project.
For example: if you are wanting to create a birthday invitation and printables using clip art, you may be best suited to one of the Print programs. If you’re wanting to alter colors and play with texture, etc. You may want to get one of the other programs with more features.
I hope some of these are helpful in what you are looking for. Please note that I cannot provide training or teach you how to use these programs, but there are typically many tutorials online and on youtube that should help you through any learning blocks.
I am happy to help or answer any questions that I can or am familiar with.
